What Can We Do?

Although we are all "kids," there are several things that we can do to help causes like the Black Lives Matter movement.

1. Sign petitions. It is very easy to put names and your zip code on a form. At most, it will also ask for your email/number and it'll most likely be updates on the petition that you signed.

2. Educate others. The information that we have is key. If more people know and if more people have more influence know, this could be very beneficial to the cause. Also, there are many people that are misinformed or choose to ignore; make these people interested and corrected.

3. Donate. For your birthday, or simply other occasions, you can collect money to donate to causes you support. Use some of the money that you may have raised yourself for a cause you truly want to be a part of.

4. Talk. As in, talk with others, discuss what they may think. These discussions, if peaceful, can be very beneficial to you and to the other that you are talking to. Talk with people who support the same cause, talk with some who may not, whether it's a supporter or a non-supporter it is still good for you to know what opinions are out there.

5. Email/Call. This may be hard for some but you can always call or email people of power about your cause and what they can do for it. Of course, we can always do the most we can but there are some others who can do much more. Find out ways to contact the local government or others and contact them about your cause.

In America, we are privileged with freedom of speech. This is only beneficial to the nation if the citizens truly do speak what they believe. So speak. As teenagers, we may not have so much power now but we will be leaders of tomorrow but it can only happen if we act as leaders.
