How Are We Supposed To Deal with This?

Literally. Have we ever been taught in school how to deal with knowing about world-changing events? We've been on this Earth for almost 20 years and so much has happened I don't think we even count some significant events as significant events anymore.
Are we really numb to historic events like the media portrays us to be? Have our lives been so normalized to just take these world-changing events and be nonchalant about them? Personally I do not think I am numb to any of these events and I am never prepared for any of them. We've just learned to get by through the events and not remain onto it as long as past generations have in their time.
These events will go down in history books anyway so why should we be so hung up on all of them? I do think it is crucial to be aware of important world events, but I also do think that we also have a life to live. Through these crucial events do we not still go to school(excluding the Coronavirus pandemic)? Do we still not go to our sports and instrument practices? Life carries on anyways and we have the news to keep up with the latest stories, and us being the generation that needs to drag some of the world back to its place, we still need to proceed with our lives and education.
We've been born into such a fast-paced society there simply is no time to process all the information that is being dumped onto us. On Monday killer clowns might be on the attack, on Tuesday, the President is planning on building a wall between Mexico and America, on Thursday, deadly bees from Asia migrated to America and so on. How do we process it all? How does this make sense in our brains? What is a "normal" reaction? Alas, we do make sense of some information some time but it'll leave as soon as it lands. Why? Because we have chemistry to learn.
So yes, in a way we are "numb" to these critical world situations but I think that we wouldn't have been if we weren't born in such a fast-paced society. Thoughts?
This was so eye opening- I feel like the fast paced world we live in does have something to do with how we react because even with mundane things, they’re over so quickly- the first ipod was made not even 20 years ago and now we have the iphone 11(?)12(?) either way, “big things” like these events or developments in technology have been so normalized even just in this century that we as humans have this stigma that major world events can’t effect us unless it’s directly affecting our specific lives- It probably also has to do with the focus on “self” in this generation too and not as much community- but who knows...maybe we as humans will change our…
